He has been deeply involved in the Guantanamo detainee litigation, both in the U.S. Supreme Court and in the lower courts, and has been one of the leaders of the habeas lawyers’ political advocacy efforts with Congress and, more recently, the Obama Administration. Gary is a frequent public speaker on the issues raised by the Guantanamo litigation and has served as a panelist at numerous screenings of "The Response."
